Pembroke
EXPLORE
THE COMMUNITY
Situated at the intersection of the Ottawa River and the Muskrat River Pembroke is just 145 kilometers Northwest of Ottawa in the heart of the Ottawa Valley.
Originally a lumber town known for its abundant tall pines and ease of access to the River Pembroke has grown into a thriving centre that boasts many new industries as well as its close proximity to base Petawawa.
Pembroke gained City status in 1971 and has spent the last two decades turning the riverfront from an industrial area into a great lace for families and tourists to enjoy. A boardwalk has been developed with outdoor music venues, large parks and many gazebos to stop and have a picnic while enjoying the riverfront. Pembroke is also now home to a large marina and the all new Algonquin College Campus on the waterfront.
For people looking to move to the area Pembroke offers many different housing solutions from grand turn of the century homes to modern subdivisions and waterfront condominiums. Pricing is very reasonable and utility costs are low with the availability of Natural gas for heating and Pembroke’s own Hydro company providing power to the City.
